Fun in Bellingham
Today was the day when "the other Marjorie" and I went for a jaunt.
She chose to go to Bellingham because she wanted to see the countryside. I was pleased that the swathes of frothy cow parsley are still looking wonderful.
Sadly it was a dull day, but we avoided the heavy rain shower back at home.
Lunch was in the new railway carriage. It's very comfortable and it was great to see families in there. We were early enough to bag a two seater table. Some people were not so lucky.
Our lunch was delicious. While we were eating our MP parked just below our window. In due course a few people joined him and it looked as if they were canvassing. Why did no one have a blue rosette I wonder?!
(I live in a safe Conservative seat, but live in hope......)
We shopped at the Coop and I went to the wonderful greengrocer. It's a proper shop, although you do choose your own fruit and veg. The choice of potatoes was excellent.
The old baker's shop is being refurbished. I took a couple of photographs of the patterns of whitewash in the window, as which point a decorator emerged, spattered with white paint. He was more than happy to be photographed and I then blended two images together, just for fun.
This evening I ate in the pub with Liz, Nick, Marianna and Margret. Good food and conversation.
