Palm lily

Sometimes called Palm Lily, though it's neither a palm nor a lily, Cordyline rubra is a common garden plant here in the sub-tropics. It's mainly grown for its attractive red palm-like leaves. At this time of year it bears sprays  of small flowers. It grows naturally in rainforest around here.
