Wildflower meadow
A full day, with Uke class, then Pilates, and early evening it was the AGM of our local conservation group. We met in the wildlife area at the bench, just visible in the photo, surrounded by masses of Ox Eye Daisy and Yellow Rattle flowers and tall grasses in the wildflower meadow. However, a couple of our members were suffering badly from hayfever, so we soon moved to the adjoining mown sports field, where we sat around one of the new picnic tables. We reflected on how at last year's AGM we had lit a bonfire and baked potatoes and fish in the embers, but with great caution as the ground was so dry! This year, the vegetation has grown profusely, including over our usual bonfire site, and the material we might use for a fire is soaking wet! At least tonight it stayed dry for our meeting.
