The grinning reaper
When we arrived home last night from the conservation group AGM, we found a large parcel on our doorstep. This morning, Martin assembled its contents, which as you can see, made a scythe. He ordered it, after attending the recent scything course. It still needs a bit more prep, but he's itching to try it out, once "no- mow- may" is over!
This evening, we were back at the wildlife area, with a new Parish Councillor, and another friend, to meet Ellie from the Hampshire Hedge Project, to discuss how we might improve the hedgerows in our parish. Enthusiastic Ellie,as we call her, is always very encouraging and informative, and tonight was no exception. Next autumn/ winter I think we could be very busy planting hedges.
