TAKE GREAT CARE

Here is part of the beach near Silverdale.
First it is easy to sprain an ankle or worse walking down over those rocks.
Second if you cross that channel the tide may come in at high speed and make it very difficult to get back.
Third, and worst of all, you may find yourself on quicksands which will pull you down and set like concrets round your legs. It would need the Coastguard with high pressure water hoses to release you.
There are many warning signs.
But last weekend 50 people, including a lady with a childin a pushchair, had to be guided off the sands by the Bay Rescue Service. They were in danger of being cut off by the fast moving incoming tide.
