Small Heath - Coenonympha pamphilus
I went out today specifically to look for 6-spot burnet moths but there wee none around. It is already over a week later than when I saw them last year.
There were several butterflies around. Many whites which I mostly ignored, half a dozen ringlets (also ignored because I blipped one just a few days ago), a solitary common blue that managed to drop out of sight before I got the camera on it - and this Small Heath (Coenonympha pamphilus).
As it is the first I have seen this summer, it becomes my blip for today.
