More Sorting
Another very cold day with some rain, not getting above 12.3C and feeling much colder with a strong Northerly wind straight off the North Sea. I had my burglar alarm serviced first thing, then I went out the front and collected a large plastic trug full of leaves that had come off the trees in the field overnight - we had gusts of 40mph all night. I've been doing more sorting and watching tennis the rest of the day. These stamps are in one of three albums I have which I assume belonged to my two brothers (I'm not sure why I've kept them). I remember looking at them as a kid, I liked all the different pictures and colours. What fascinated me looking at this page now is the different monarchs - starting top left with Queen Victoria, then Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII, George VI and obviously Elizabeth II. I was quite surprised there were stamps for Edward VIII who was never crowned due to abdication and was King for less than 11 months, but then googled that stamps with King Charles on were available a month before his Coronation, 7 months after he became Monarch.
I lost some data on my weather station due to power cuts, but I recorded at least 94mm of rain, which is over two and a half times our average for May and the 10th of the last 11th months when we've had considerably above average rainfall, averaging over twice normal rainfall starting last July.
