The window cleaner arrived at 7.30 this morning- gave me and the cats a bit of a fright! Drove over to Js mid morning for a few hours working in his garden. The plan was to get weed killer down on the patio ( a big area) , sand and oil his outside table and put a coat of preservative on the shed. But we had a sharp rain shower as I was driving over. That put paid to the planned activities so J planted up the pots I had brought over from Dad’s and I tied back all the climbing plants ( he has many!) which have put loads of growth . The rest of the garden has done the same(see blip). Fortunately he likes a very full garden but I am persuading him to cut some things back as the smaller plants are getting choked. When he’d finished he tackled the bamboo and the brambles which grow between his fence and the outer wall . It took me rather longer to get the tying in done , but then the table had dried so I was able to sand it and get one coat of oil on - J will do two more over the weekend. Went to Sainsbury’s to return some clothes and buy weekend food on the way home. Tidied up and had a very late lunch and then finished the wire support on my fence for the climbing rose, and then had a late shower.
