What's All The Racket About?

SWMBO has been getting bothered by some pain in a her hip/thigh (a trapped sciatic nerve I suspect) so after breakfast and it being a nice morning I suggested a short walk to she if that would loosen things up.
She agreed so off we went.
I took the infrared camera with me as I wanted to get something a bit different (possibly some In Camera Movement of the trees).
There are 6 shots starting here.

When we arrived home SWMBO noticed that the flowers on Clematis in the front hedge would appear to be mutating to 'doubles' and their colour is changing & darkening .... so pictures of them were also taken (with the big camera) ..... along with some of the pansies (they haven't been able to lift their heads to look at the sun for ages having been battered to the ground by the rain)
The flower shots start after the fern.

There may have been some woodturning done as well - although that was interrupted by the next door neighbours letting me know they were home from their month long holiday on Tenerife........ Burnt you say? I would say so too.
The turning was completed in the afternoon (a piece of rubbish which turned out to have loads of beautiful 'spalting' when I thought it was only a very small bit that was going to be turned away).

There was also a trip to the shop to get one or two things.
If one of the 'things' hadn't been the main course on the menu for tonight I would have refused....I hate shopping when the 'general public' (I am trying to be polite here) are out and about - and Boy! were they out and about!!! ........ entire extended families completely oblivious to anybody else - selfish, rude and 'entitled' youths barging past, pushing in front, reaching over - and when did abandoning the trolley in the middle of the narrowest/most inconvenient spot to walk away and get in other peoples way before barging the way back to  said trolley become 'a thing'?
Some of those people are going to be wondering where their trolly went while they were away collecting 'stuff'.

When getting ready to cook the purchased main course there was a real commotion going on in the back garden with the Blackbirds going nuts.
It turned out they were ganging up on and chasing away a Magpie.
I am glad of that because apparently it was harassing the Bluetits.
While I was taking pictures of Mrs Blackbird watching me taking pictures of her there was a head appeared at the entrance to one of the nesting boxes. Well, I say 'head' - it was more of an open beak yelling 'FEED ME'.

So that is why the Magpies were in the garden!.
The Blackbirds did a good job though and the youngsters (there are at least 2) had Dad running ragged at full speed to keep them fed - it certainly wasn't quiet (there are another couple of pictures between those links)

Apparently we have been invited round to Bags' house tomorrow for a cup of tea if the weather is clement ..... Oh! - and could I bring round a tool capable of grinding a screw away from a stuck drain cover?
I knew there had to be a catch!
