Foxgloves
This afternoon I visited my Mother. We took a turn around the care home garden, and we liked these foxgloves and Allium.
A rather leisurely evening watching Springwatch, Gardeners World, and then a programne about three NT properties (Anglesey Abbey, Mr Straw's House, and Killlerton House.) and the varied nature of the challenges facing the conservators, including repairing an exquisite ornate Chinese clock, mending delicate, historic garments, and restoring a stained glass window. It seems our desire to watch tv programmes about repairing and valuing antique and vintage items is insatiable. Yet, nowadays, new goods for sale are usually of poor quality, sold cheaply, and certainly not designed to last long, let alone become treasured heirlooms.
