Day trip

Although the house was in urgent need of attention we had decided to have a day out today. We don't get that many weekends when hubby isn't working at some point and the weather is good!

We headed up to Bolton Abbey and were reminded once again that there are so many beautiful places within an hour's drive of home that we never think of visiting. It was hot and mainly sunny but we managed a decent walk by the river before our picnic.

Ours was a fairly boring affair but there were obviously a lot of people who had been before - they had chairs, tables, windbreaks, barbecues, the lot!

We drove a bit further up the road and walked to the Strid which is a notorious bit of the River Wharfe, a stretch of rapids. As it has been so dry lately it wasn't as impressive as it could have been but it was still very powerful.

Added excitement when we got home - Lottie's wobbly tooth came out, her first one! She was so pleased with herself!

Finished the day off with a yummy Chinese which we ate in the garden, a first I think.
