Another day, another festival...
Plan was that Kasteel de Har was only meant to be a brief stop in a cycle tour out to the countryside north of Utrecht. However on arrival (and after negotiating the rather impressive cycle bridge that loops across the roof of a school on the way out of the city) it turned out there was a festival of all things (but mostly food and shopping related) Italian on.
Having arrived right at the start I got the chance of filling up on various food freebies and then a walk in the empty castle grounds. By the time I left (fatter...) there was traffic jam a mile long waiting to get in.
After that it was a bucolic trundle, first to Breuklen (from which - Brooklyn) and then to similarly pretty and upmarket Maarsen. Feeling a bit pink from the unexpected sunshine I carried on back onto Utrecht and sat in the shade on the banks of a lock which turned out to be the location of the quirkily famous Fish Doorbell.
