Krakow

A new place to visit and so after a 4.00am start we were in Krakow for an early lunch in Parc Nowy. Sunshine and heavy showers didn’t dim the beauty. Small centre to the city so easily walkable and we took a walking tour with the very knowledgeable Slawek who brought the city to life.
After dinner we headed to a spa which at first glance looked a bit improbable built within the eaves of a football stadium.
We do like our aufguss and started with the best. Apparently in Poland there’s a large competitive community of aufguss masters, so in walks our master, athletically rotund, and the opening strings of the guitar of Under Pressure started! ( normally the golden rule of sauna is silence)) What followed defies description suffice to say he pirouetted like a ballerina with his towels wafting us the steam from three different ice lumps, lavender, rose and orange. Oh we sweated and clapped. And sang
Saunaoke?
Dipped in the jacuzzis and other saunas and went back for more an hour later. Different master. More thumping Polish rock with a backdrop of a screen showing various scenes Atlas Mountains the sea… all rather strange. Lots of man in hats too. So different, no singing still clapping and a whole lot of sweat.
An experience for sure. Box ticked and chuckled all the way home .
