Sea Pink

It’s several months since we’ve been to the beach for a walk so this afternoon with a favourably timed low tide, we ventured forth! It was quiet and pleasantly warm despite the northerly breeze. The soft pink of the thift flowers carpeted the salty grass margins of the beach. In other places we could see lots of dead plants which I assume were killed when we had the exceptionally high tide earlier in the year. High winds have also thrown in lots of salty spray this year.
