Keeping Cool
Merlin enjoys running in the long meadow grass in the summer but he quickly gets hot. There are a few places he can get into the cool ditch for a drink and a paddle. Then at the end of his walk we go to the village stream so he can have a longer drink and lie down in the water and cool down properly. When we get home I lay his blanket in his favourite spot - at the top of the stairs - so he can rest and watch what we are up to (from a distance).
It’s been warm today so I stayed in the shade of the garden and constructed a new wooden bench for the allotment. I also walked the wheel barrow with its new and inflated tyre to the allotment - we’ll see how long it takes me to get a puncture!
Grateful:
- For a peaceful sunny morning at breakfast.
- For Andy’s help when constructing the bench - there were times when four hands made it much easier.
- To have an early night.
