Taking Eliana home

Sue got a text message as we were having breakfast: Eliana's father, Sue's younger son, was in Urgent Care. A health problem he has been having for a couple of years had escalated. Eliana's mom works on weekends, so they needed Sue to take Eliana for the day. Sue and I had planned to attend a gathering for a dear friend of ours who is entering hospice care after a number of years with Multiple Myeloma. Ultimately we decided Sue would go to the gathering, I would stay with Eliana, and I will visit our friend some other time.

Eliana beat me at cribbage and Wordle, and we had some good laughs as we waited for Sue to return.

Eventually Sam was sent home with necessary meds. We made Eliana a simple dinner and then drove her across town in the pouring rain before dark.
