Orkney at last

The wind had dropped a bit this morning. Just as well as we boarded the ferry at Gills Bay to head over to South Ronaldsay - our first Orkney island.
We’ve got a couple of nights here at a campsite on an organic farm. Very much a farm site with pitches on a windswept bumpy hillside, but fantastic views down the coast.
Had a walk round a headland to gaze at the cliffs and stacks. Lots of nesting sea birds to watch as they soared up the cliff side in the not so gentle breeze. The cliff tops are covered in carpets of springs flowers, so much colour.
