Police again!

Yesterday it was their plane, today their helicopter, it must be something serious! But don't you think I got a fantastic shot at it? I just stuck my camera through the burglar proofing on our veranda, it was só low, just made it over the roof of our house!

Just a bit of background information for those who does not know! It is embarrassing, but true, and the media all over the world carries the stories daily anyway!

I heard on one of the International news stations today that South Africa is now officially the country with the highest murder rate in the world, more than 22,000 people per annum are murdered in our beautiful country, apposed to about 900 per annum in Great Britain! I found this website, perhaps not really up to date, but the statistics here is horrific! On this site SA is #2 and the UK for instance #46.

But then, we have the problem here that the Police Dept doesn't always have money for fuel for their vehicles, which results in the terrible situation that people call them for assistance when they were robbed at gunpoint, in their houses, or even when one or more members of the family were killed by the robbers, and the Police cannot come to their assistance because their vehicles are stranded due to shortage of money!

So, guys, when you have a Police aeroplane circling your neighbourhood one afternoon and their helicopter the next day, there must be something very serious going on in our neighbourhood! Will tell you as soon as we hear what's going on!
