A Day In The Life

Mew

Now I’m thinking a young gray squirrel was the one that snapped the lilac tree and not a raccoon, and it was the catbird nest he was after and not suet. I found one this morning attempting to climb straight up the tree towards the top but he quickly shimmied down when it wouldn’t hold him • Let’s hope he learns and he’s the only curious one • Meanwhile the catbirds seem to be doing fine, both staying nearby. Is the nest ready, did they relocate it, and when will there be eggs? I really do need to do more research • Our first peony opened; Miss Poppy has 20 pods; the dear deer ate hostas and sunflowers overnight; I saw a dragon fly and a peck’s skipper; plus an eastern tiger swallowtail. The garden is coming alive! • Peace & Love
