Back in Japan…
…at the far south west of Honshu in Shimonoseki. We visited the fish market which is famous for its pufferfish (main). This delicacy is also highly toxic unless it is prepared carefully.
This morning’s garden, called Chofu (extra), was so different from the one at Adachi Museum. Much older, well-loved but not perfect in every detail, and a pleasure to stroll around and sit and enjoy the sculptures, the sound of running water, bamboo rustling, Koy carp gliding lazily…
We finished the day in a quiet museum founded by an industrialist which today had a special exhibition devoted to the tea ceremony (poster in second extra as no photos allowed). It would take a life time to create or gather together all the requisites for a perfect tea ceremony…
The museum had a lovely shop and I treated myself to a tiny carved seal with the kanji for “love”, a ceramic pot with the red ink for the seal, and some beautiful writing paper.
