Post Office Bay, Floreana

This morning we are visiting the island of Floreana where we made a wet landing with the Zodiacs.  There is an old wooden barrel there which is used as a "Post Office" -- people can leave post cards there, and other visitors can take cards that have addresses near to their home towns and mail them onwards once they return home.

We didn't find any with Massachusetts or Maine addresses, but Jackson found a couple for North and South Carolina which he will post when he returns to Spartanburg.

I was amazed to learn that there is no postal service in all of Ecuador -- so apparently this is pretty much the only way to send "snail mail" from  here.

Extra shows brave souls diving from the stern of the ship in a "Galapagos Plunge".
