It's a whole tree...
.....Luc suffering the urgent surgical removal of a branch from his paw. No melodrama to be seen.
Today was group contribution day. Our lot went off to other sub camps to take part in bandsaw making, woggle tying , bungeeing, challenge games and other stuff. We received 42 Norwegian and Swiss Scouts and treated them to Highland Games (48 seconds into the video), Country Dancing and Tastes of Scotland, i.e. Haggis, Oat Cakes, Broth, Irn Bru, Shorty, Embra Rock and
Mrs Quill's Homemade Tablet. They are either the politest children in christendom or they genuinely enjoyed it.
Ollie Slater has enjoyed swimming in the fjord the best so far and is really keen to get to the top of the 60m pioneering tower from Saturday's image.
Suzy is briefing the overnight hike patrols now. They leave tomorrow at 11am and we won't see them again until Wednesday around the same time......but don't worry Mums and Dads, the routes are tailored to the map reading skills and experience of the patrols and there are loads of support people along the route. For some of the Scouts this will be the first experience of bivouacking under the stars.
Quote of the Day, "Karen, will this hurt?", "No", "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh......"
