Overnight Hike....
.... a morning of reminder tutorials on route card preparation, map reading, ruck sack packing and emergency procedures before three patrols posed for this shot.
Next it was a 1 hour bus journey into the hills for their allotted hike routes. A 24 hour overnight adventure hike with no adults , not something we do in the UK as a rule, so we had debated the merits against risks at length. What swayed it was the highly professional support set-up and the good weather.
So, writing this on Wednesday morning and the weather yesterday was wet, windy and cold for the first time this week; bad timing. However, all our patrols have been spotted by Norwegian hike staff, and are in good shape, their tarps are up and they are camped where they should be according to their route cards. The weather is beautiful and warm this morning and they'll have a lovely, relaxed walk-in to the collection points. No doubt there'll be stories of adventure to tell when they arrive back at camp today.
All good.
