The Concrete Jungle

Milton Keynes has a reputation as the city of the car, with lots of grid roads, buildings and new housing estates.  However, I know from having lived there for more than 30 years that it is much more than that; as 'new towns' go it is one of the most successful and pleasant places to live.  Not that that stopped us moving away of course, and I have no regrets, but it was nice to come back today and meet up with old friends for a lovely lunch in Brasserie Blanc.  We're here for the dentist tomorrow so stopping overnight, and this shot was taken in one of the lovely infill parks just behind our hotel.

Concerning news today about Dr Michael Mosley who has gone missing on Symi in the Greek islands.  I know the beach and path he used well, having walked it many times.  A view of part of it is in the extra on this blip and whilst the path is uneven it is safe for the sure-footed, but if you lost your footing on the stretch in the photo it is a long and steep drop into the sea.  I sincerely hope that he is found safe and well.
