Our Day

I was up at 6:00 to make Parker’s scones before we left town. He works so hard and is miserable with poison ivy so he deserves a treat. Jamie just sent me a picture of Parker with a black snake that is over 5 feet long. He isn’t afraid of anything. Hubby helped me pick blueberries, our first of the year. We have a bumper crop. My family loves them and we have been warned that they have the highest toxicity rate of any fruit you buy in a supermarket. Apparently, non-USA countries who grow them for US consumption use a deadly weed killer that is in the fruit. Mine are organic. We hadn’t gotten out of the neighborhood before we remembered two things on our checklist that we had to do. The weather has been quite nice except for a few short rain showers. We had lunch at a small authentic Italian restaurant. We will enjoy that delicious pizza for dinner also. Our trip has been fine so far. We stopped briefly in Roanoke, Va. Hubby has wanted to check out their transportation museum. After visiting the pristine Ford museum in Dearborn, Mi in 2016, we were a bit disappointed. It is obviously a low budgeted museum. Dust everywhere. But I loved their old cars. We should reach our motel in Abingdon around 6:45 pm. We have another long drive tomorrow to get to Dunlap, TN. Hubby’s family reunion always gives us lasting memories. Wishing you a peaceful evening. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit.
