A Farewell Visitor

Our last day in the Galapagos -- this week has just flown by!

This lone pelican slowly paddled up to the side of the ship this morning to say goodbye to us (although he was probably really just looking for something to eat!)

We're spending this afternoon packing our suitcases, as we have to have them outside in the hallway by this evening.  We leave the ship tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn, and fly back to Guayaquil for the night before heading home to Boston on Sunday.

How quickly one forgets what it's like to travel with a 15 year-old!  I've had to check the closets/drawers/under beds/in bathroom cabinets/wastebaskets/out on the balcony several times to make sure all the things Jackson brought onboard with him make it back into his backpack and/or suitcase!  No doubt I will have missed some things, but hopefully nothing of vital importance.
