INDY CARS
It's Indy car week at Road America...America's National Park of Speed. The morning started out overcast but OK with the specter of impending rain and cold in the mid-morning. It hit just about the time the Indy Cars were on track for a little exercise. Qualifying was later in the day and the BIG RACE is scheduled for tomorrow where the weather is predicted to be much better.

But today, practice and qualifying will be in the wet. Here, New Zealander Scott McLaughlin, drives the No.3 Dallara-Chevrolet for team Penske past Turn 13 and heads to the hard right turn at 14 and then on to the start/finish line.. I love the "rooster tails" of water that sometimes form at the rear of a fast moving car. But the water puddles are not deep enough today for rooster tails so there's just a fog of water droplets behind each car and coming off the front spoiler. This fog pattern of water drops also explains why the drivers space themselves a bit so as not to be blinded by the spray from the car in front.
