Home from Turkey

A very enjoyable week on a gulet cruise and I could fully recommend the company Bluecruise.co.uk for a holiday where you just have one cabin rather than booking a whole gulet. Our boat was Efe Burak which apparently is one of the best.. The crew were great particularly the cook who did amazing food from a tiny kitchen.

Turkey is now quite expensive but we did not really appreciate this as we had all our meals included. However prices at the airport were crazy over £15 for a small cheese pastry and an iced coffee. All the nice boxes of Turkish baclava etc were about €30 for a smallish box… more  expensive than at home! However I did buy a couple of things to use up my Turkish lira.
The blip is a fridge magnet…I try to buy them of flags of any country I visit for the grandchildren. Difficult to find in Turkey as they were all rather bulky pottery ones of various towns we were in so good to find this yesterday of an outline of the country.

EasyJet flight back was fine but I have not flown into Gatwick for many years and not impressed! So good to be home and feeling tired as we were woken up at 5am (3 am U.K. time) because of early risers!
