Repairing the thatch
We travelled from home to Norfolk. We saw people on the M6 bridges waving then we saw all the motorbikes and realised that they were part of the memorial ride for Dave Myers, (one of the Hairy Bikers TV cooks) who died from cancer a few weeks ago. Over 20,000 biked took part in the ride from London to Barrow in Furness in Cumbria which was his home town.
Unfortunately there was an accident on the motorway which was closed just before we should have left it. We had to deviate around Nuneaton where there was a massive traffic jam due to roadworks traffic lights and the extra traffic. We were a couple of extra hours getting through the town!
It took us all day to reach our destination with various hold ups so I was glad to pass this house which was having it's thatched roof repaired. There are some lovely thatched cottages here as it's a good area for producing the reeds.
Please excuse the lack of comments while I'm away.
