Au plein air

Today my watercolour group spent the morning at Ty Mawr Country Park where we went to paint in the open air.

Most people sketched or painted Cefn Viaduct which is next to the park.  It carries the railway over the River Dee on the way to Chester and we saw a few trains pass over it while we were there.  It's a magnificent structure built in 1848 and has ninteen arches.

We were going to have something to eat in the cafebut it was closed due to illness so we went to a cafe in Trefor.

It was a most enjoyable morning.  I haven't quite finished my painting but took a photo of the scene from my position so hope to find the time  to get it done before our next meeting.
