Emergency

Dee and I stopped at there Kountry Kitchen for breakfast before driving home. The cafe was filled with what we thought of as locals. You can tell this.

At the corner table there was an elderly man, two women and another man.

The elderly man all of a sudden leaned back and moaned. The other man ( I think it may have been his son) talked with him but no response. The younger woman was on her phone to call 911 for an EMT or ambulance. In less than five minutes a fire truck arrived with two men who immediately started their procedure for a heart attack or stroke. They started CPR and after working a few minutes we heard one of them say they had a pulse. We found out the man was 94 years old.

It was totally scary but as we were leaving the EMT were loading the man into the ambulance for transport to the hospital.

It was not the best way to end breakfast but we were so glad we did not have to see the man die.

EMT workers don’t get enough credit for what they do. Hope the man will be okay.
