Have A Heart For Hannah
Today's image was taken at the top of our back garden. This little statue is named after an old family friend called Miss Hannah and has been the subject of previous blips but I just felt drawn back to her today.
We bought her as a present for our mum as she was such a keen gardener (a skill which sadly none of us seem to have inherited) and she could literally spend the whole day outside - once me and my brother had learned to cook it would be us calling our mum in for dinner just as she used to call us in as small kids when we'd being playing outside all day.
The heart shaped leaves (it also sports beautiful white trumpet like blooms when in flower) in my image are from calystegia sepium which may look like a wonderfully exotic plant that has been judiciously cultivated for this particular spot but as any decent gardener will know goes by the common name of bindweed. Whilst I am a little ashamed that this is the case in a way those heart shaped leaves represent our love of this little statue as it always brings back such happy memories of our mum beavering away all day in the garden - or at least until we called her in for her dinner. :-)
