Changed plans

I'm not sat on a Cuban beach but this is my very own make-do Mojito.
Following more rowing, Alex left with the girls & Noodle for his Zoe's birthday BBQ at his parents house early this morning. The atmosphere was most awkward & I didn't want it to extend to his family nor tarnish their day, so I thought it best to stay away.
Ferguson & I were left & the day panned out dramatically different to any other Sundays I ever have.
F played with Daniel alongside me, whilst I sat in the morning sun reading my long over due to be finished book & drinking my homemade sunshine cocktail.

A cake baking, hoovering, a kitchen floor clean followed before Charlotte, our neighbor, put a bottle of beer in my hand & started a nice chat.
She was having a party for some of her friends & the cake was an attempt to relive some of her own baking stress.
It was nice to spend time chatting & getting to know her & I really enjoyed it - as did Ferguson - chatting to one of her wonderfully loud & outrageous American friends.
By 7, Alex was back & my departure to my mums was well & truly overdue. We passed almost silently & upon arriving home late, bed had already summoned him, so I joined in the solitary slumber party.
