Camera Club Outing - Flower Photography

Our Camera Club Summer School on flower photography continues, and this week we went out to photograph wild flowers in their natural habitat - at Northumberlandia. (As I was back late, this is a backblip.)

My colleague who was leading the outing highly recommends "getting down and dirty" so I was glad I'd put on my cagoule and overtrousers as not only had there been lots of rain, the heavens opened for about 10 minutes as soon as we arrived! You can see what the sky was like in the first extra. However several of us persevered and the rain stopped after a while so we didn't get too many raindrops on our camera lenses.

We stayed until about 9.30pm - taking advantage of the long days at this time of year, although we had to boost the ISO on the cameras quite a bit as it was so cloudy. However the flowers were lovely so we got some reasonable shots.

It was pretty cool too (especially for June!) so just before we left we came across some insects which were pretty still - hence the main blip where the poor creature even has a drop of rain on its eye! For the second extra I really did get down low to get the shot from under the Ox Eye Daisies. The third extra is a bit more conventional.

There's a few more on Google Photos here.
