This'n'That

Morning muncher

An EB on a busy day. There were two does enjoying browsing just a few steps from the house. Glad I saw them and had the camera handy to take a couple of photos.
Yesterday G worked hard doing a bunch of stuff outside. He came in around 4:30, went to have a shower, turned on the tap - no water. Out he went to the well house to see if he could figure out what the problem was. No luck. Fortunately we have some emergency drinking water in containers and a barrel handy for filling buckets to use to flush the toilet. He called Gary, the plumber who had replaced the well pump about 4 years ago, and left a message. Just before 8 this morning, he called again and left another message. About 10 minutes later, Gary called back and said he had a morning meeting but would come down as soon as it was over. I couldn't believe it! He and his son Matt arrived about 9:30. They've been here most of the day. Gary thought that there might be an electrical issue, so he called an electrician who works with him. When he arrived, they looked at some possible electrical problems. No solution yet. They left just before 4pm and will be back first thing tomorrow morning to try a couple of things that could work. Gary had some other jobs lined up, but he's set them aside for now because this is an emergency. Such great service! Fingers crossed that they'll solve the issue tomorrow. Extra: the control box and  part of the connection that G took apart.
Another fortunate thing - neighbour Bill left this afternoon to go to Oregon to take in some plays at a festival. I drove him to the ferry and the friend he's travelling with will pick him up on the other side. G went up this morning to refill some water containers, and we can use his shower and as much water as we need. We always look after his place when he's gone, and at least we won't have to bother him if and when we need to fill up containers again.
The joys of rural living! We've had lots of experience with things like this over the years, so we know that it will all work out in the end.
