Flag Iris ( Iris pseudacorus )

I have always known these Irises as Flag Iris, it would seem they are also known as Yellow Flag, Water Flag and the obvious Yellow Iris.  We grow these ones in the "bog Garden".  They are the actual wild strain but not taken from the wild.  We have a friend who moved house and part of their land (wild part of the garden) had these growing naturally.

An unexciting day mainly doing jobs round home.  We should have been out on a Cumbria Wildlife Trust guided walk this evening but the weather has caused it to be rearranged.
