Stuff and Nonsense

Citrus Swallowtail

A quick turnaround with washing and a bit of gardening in between the showers as we are off to London for Father's Day for a couple of days tomorrow.
This week we had an Atlas Moth emerge at the Butterfly House and I was desperate to see it, so took my turn at feeding the fish and watering the plants today. Unfortunately, despite being the size of a small dinner plate, it was nowhere to be found. I expect it is hiding between the raised beds and the wall or somewhere up high. It's a night flying moth, and we have more cocoons, so fingers crossed I'll get to see one shortly.
However, this fresh Citrus Swallowtail is one of the other new arrivals and is gorgeous. Last year they were breeding furiously, the caterpillars stripped the citrus plants we have and we had lots of them, so hopefully there is a mate for it on its way out soon.
