Garda Sunset

We took the ferry to Sirmione at the southern end of the lake today. We visited 30 years or more ago when the kids were young and we were camping at Lake Iseo.

It was a tourist honeypot then and it hasn’t changed in that respect since! The Main Street that runs up the middle of the narrow peninsula it is on was jam packed with touristy shops and visitors so we took the path that runs along one side, taking you through parks and past some imposing villas, one with a private helicopter in the grounds.

At one panoramic view a trio of Italian ladies were posing and singing in perfect harmony a song apparent associated with that particular spot, earning a round of applause from all.

We found a restaurant overlooking the beach for a pizza lunch then headed back for the boat. In extras is a view of Sirmionels most famous attraction, the castle.
