One of these days when there’s not enough time.

I took my car in for it’s scheduled Service and MOT. They looked after me as usual, and provided me with a nice courtesy car.

We had various things to do locally and ended up at IKEA, Edinburgh. We wanted to checkout some things for our other place; we have been looking elsewhere too, but this is a big store and IKEA can be quite innovative and good value for money. We’ve not been for years. And of course everything took too long. We didn’t end up buying very much but came away with plenty to think about.

Traffic going home was heavy, we got caught up in some roadworks, and just got back to the garage before the Service desk closed. The smiling Service Manager joked “a few more minutes and your car would have gone in the compound until tomorrow!” I’ve never failed to get their car back in over 20 years of dealing with them; but this was a close shave!
