On the rocks
Day 27
Our first day of real sunshine and warmth. We gloried in the weather, as did many others who could enjoy a Saturday of sunny pleasure.
We packed up from our Edinburgh site and drove to North Berwick. The drive was interesting, as we passed along the shore around the Scottish capital, and then beautiful as we drove through the countryside, and eventually once more along the Firth of Forth and into North Berwick.
We found our spot on the road between the beach and the golf course. A lot of other vans found the place too.
We walked into town and did some food shopping, then the Oxfam shop where we got a few more books. On the way home we paused at the seabird centre for coffee and cake, then back to the campers.
It was then I took the blipped picture of our two campers seen across a large rock pool as the tide turned and started to flow.
Jan and Dave cooked a “sibling” curry while Jude and I walked a little more then set up table and chairs in the sun. The curry was delicious and once that was all cleared away we took a final wander with binoculars. We watched two herons, some ducks, a couple of oyster catchers, and numerous gulls.
As I write it’s 11 at night, almost dark and close to high tide, and we will shortly be retiring to our bed, very satisfied with a lovely day.
