Swimming at North Berwick (Day 28)
Don't get too excited, it's Bramble doing the swimming in the (sea) paddling pool, not us humans.
Just after midnight last night I peeked out at the world and saw a beautiful light on the sea. The clouds had parted and the sky was still not dark. If we'd had clearer skies we'd have seen the "white nights" up here in Scotland. However, it was not to be...
Waking in the morning it was cloudy but otherwise okay and we took a walk to town. Bramble swam all the way along the pool. She appears to move more easily in the water, and still enjoys a long swim as much as she did when young.
A bit after this picture was taken the rain started to fall again so we headed back to the vans, hung up our damp clothes and set off for Moffat. It was a beautiful drive through some impressive hills - the Pentland hills, the Moffat hills?
Moffat itself also impressed me as a fine old market town. We had excellent chips, and later drank some rather tasty Bellhaven beer in The Balmoral Hotel.
The rain finally stopped about 23:30! (It just restarted!)
Tomorrow we return to England.
