On the up
Two years after tiles started falling off of these tower blocks in high winds they are finally being repaired so that the buildings can open for the first time. Better late than never. I believe there has been extensive legal advice taken and possibly even litigation about whose responsibility it was to fix the problem.
Had a great Father’s Day. Very chilled, lots of food and time with my boys. Weather perked up too. However -
Against my better judgement. I watched the England football match tonight. They managed a scrappy one nil victory over Serbia in a game that had more spills than thrills. To make it even more confusing all of the Serbian players had names that ended in -itch. Commentary went something like this … "Roman Abramovich has got the ball … he passes to Ivan Denisovitch who then quickly lays it off to Erin Brockovitch. John Malkovitch nods it down towards Shostakovich who makes a dummy run that allows Sonovabitch to run through and score, but the goal is disallowed as Deadinaditch was in an offside position."
The commentary and punditry were inane. "It’s times like this you can’t stop looking at the clock" says the commentator. That’s what it’s there for you idiot. So you know how long is left. "Sometimes these World Cup games, you just have to suffer" says Alan Shearer. Twice actually Alan. Once watching the game and then again listening to you talk shite.
I’m going to go and watch them fixing the tall buildings next time. It’s less annoying than watching England play football.
