York Minster and garden drinks

Just before setting off home today, we spent an hour enjoying a diet coke and smoked nuts in the gardens of the Gray Court Hotel.

You can access the gardens from the city walls, which is what we did after a delicious gelato from one of the many excellent food shops York has.

With only 15 minutes left on our parking spot, we ascended the steps back to the walls, to realise the hotel staff had added a padlock! It must have been near closing time for the garden's public opening. We panicked a little before exiting through the front of the hotel and walking back to our camper van with a few minutes to spare. Phew!
