Walrus

Day 8. Travelled a lot further south last night and arrived at Poolepynten for a landing. First part was a walk along the beach to see some reindeer in the far distance which weren’t great. The second part was better as we went over the colony on walruses which lived on the beach. Had a great 30 minutes with them, watching them scratching and moving around, made even more special with the mountains in the background. After lunch it was our final landing of the trip at Alkhornet, went for a zodiac cruse first and managed to find a puffin on the way back to the landing zone. Had a nice walk around the island and saw a couple of foxes off in distance and then to remains of a reindeer. Headed back to the shore to do the polar swim, which was cold for me but J had a great time in the water doing handstands. Glass of bubbles for the captains cocktail farewell and then a nice dinner. Caught up with another couple of guests in the bar afterwards before going to bed.
