Polar bear sign

Day 9. Day off the boat today as it was the end of the first voyage. Spent the day wondering around Longyearbyen, had a walk down the road to the polar bear warning sign at the edge of the village after having a look around the shops. Bought some postcards and wrote them while having lunch. In the afternoon we went to the Svalbard museum which was nice. Headed back to the ship for captains’ welcome drinks, lifeboat drills and then dinner before getting an early night.
