Wild Strawberries
Another day in the office. The day itself started off quite bright, but deteriorated. It got greyer and grimmer as the day went on.
Work was work. I popped out at lunchtime to return a few things I had purchased online. It felt like winter when I was out and about.
There were a few colleagues in the office today and one who I hadn’t seen for ages appeared later on, which was nice, as we had a good catch up.
After work a few of us went to a local restaurant for a small and select overdue retirement dinner. We had tried to hold it about six months ago, but it was cancelled at the very last minute as a few of us were ill. It was great to get together to give our former colleague a send-off, and to hear all about the adventures of his second career. He is certainly enjoying retirement, and is looking forward to the drinking the whisky we bought him.
When we left the restaurant it was pretty wet, and thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long on my bus. Unfortunately the A1 is still closed in the evenings, so the journey home was longer than it should have been. I got home, just as a friend was leaving. He was in the area so popped by for tea. BB was at R’s and I was out, so that left the two of them to enjoy a takeaway. I grabbed a quick chat before he headed off to his hotel.
I spotted these wee wild strawberries high up on the wall by the bus stop this morning.
