Chilly Shugborough
Still chilly. Still rain threatening.
I went over to Shugborough and had a lovely wander through the walled garden and past the farm area. It was very quiet. I love it like this.
A couple of sheep had to be rounded up by staff. The long horn cattle were lying down and in the great long grass nearly vanished.
Over to the Mansion and formal gardens, I sat on my favourite bench and the robin arrived. I had some birdseed but this canny little fella knew better than to make a fuss. He didn’t want to share so he kept nipping back for another seed or pellet.
No mow May has extended gloriously to June and lush and glorious growth overwhelmed the usual neat formality. Extras.
