Is it a Purple Emperor?

You’d think so with that colouring but it is a Southern White Admiral - a close relative of the White Admiral according to our butterfly expert, Guy Padfield. The beautiful underside in extra, is orange and white. This is a first for me and knocked out the Rechy Waterfall (second extra) that I had gone to see as my main photo. I shall be back there as I have been told that Wallcreepers nest on the cliffs on either side of the waterfall. What a stunning valley this is, and the amount of water pouring down it at the moment is spectacular!
