This is the day

My happy place

Today I’ve been to the dentist for my six-month check up, then looked after little H, our youngest granddaughter (along with Smithers). This was because she wasn’t feeling well enough to go to school, and Mummy needed to go and watch her older sister on sports day. I have also dead headed the roses, watered the tubs and done the ironing. It’s good to have a bit more energy again.

I spent some more time in the craft room with H today so, for today’s blip, I thought I would create a collage of the corner of the room where I store ink pads, ribbons, punches and so forth.

A couple of days ago I was showing H’s big sister L how you can emboss an image by stamping it out on paper using special embossing ink, sprinkling it with coloured powder, then heating it with a special tool a bit like a hair dryer (only much hotter) until it melts, creating a raised image. Unfortunately the demonstration fell a bit flat because the powder didn’t melt properly onto the image. I have a feeling my embossing ink pads are well past their use by date! I’ve been crafting for well over 20 years and I now realise that I need to have a cull of my supplies because not all are still fit for purpose. I mostly use digital artwork or photographs these days, so the embossing ink pads are surplus to requirements anyway. They need to go.
