B got in her car this morning. No engine response from the pedal! Just tickover.
Took her into work.
Got back looked on internet: stuff like ECUs, throttle decoder, white wire should show 5v, MAF sensor, bulkhead connector and all that sort of stuff.
Texted B to say I was flummoxed.
Then decided to have a look at the throttle body. Pressed down on the butterfly valve and it didn’t move. Pressed hard and it made a slight crack and moved.
Took it off. Broke it open (they aren’t made to be taken apart) and saw that the gear had stripped - plastic.
Ordered a new old one on eBay. Cos new ones are 300 quid.
Now waiting for postman.
